Dawson in his Portland workshop, with wood detailing done by the W.P.A. woodworking shop run by Ray Neufer in Portland. The Lodge was built and furnished by local artisans during the Great Depression using Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) and Federal Art Project funds, opening to the public in 1938.
