The Lodge’s wrought iron decorations were made by a team of blacksmiths led by Orion B. Dawson in his Portland workshop. The Lodge was built and furnished by local artisans during the Great Depression using Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) and Federal Art Project funds, opening to the public in 1938.
