TitleTimberline Lodge wrought iron gateDescriptionA person stands in front of the wrought iron gates leading from the Cascade dining room into the main lounge in Timberline Lodge. The Lodge’s wrought iron decorations were made by a team of blacksmiths led by Orion B. Dawson in his Portland workshop. The Lodge was built and furnished by local artisans during the Great Depression using Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) and Federal Art Project funds, opening to the public in 1938. It is a National Historic Landmark.TypeStillImageFormatimage/jpegDate1935-1943LocationTimberline Lodge, Clackamas County, Oregon, United StatesSubjectTimberline Lodge (Mount Hood, Or.)Dawson, Orion B., 1896-1977 Rightshttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/CNE/1.0/CollectionHistoric PhotographsW.P.A PhotographsTimberline Lodge Photographs
