TitleDetail of roof and stone work, Timberline LodgeDescriptionTimberline Lodge in the snow with Mt. Hood in the background. The Lodge has a steeply slanted split-shake cedar roof that facilitates snow sliding off it. Up to fifty stonemasons worked on the Lodge’s stonework. The Lodge was built and furnished by local artisans during the Great Depression using Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) and Federal Art Project funds, opening to the public in 1938. It is a National Historic Landmark.CreatorAtkeson Photo Art StudioTypeStillImageFormatimage/jpegDate1935-1943LocationTimberline Lodge, Clackamas County, Oregon, United StatesSubjectTimberline Lodge (Mount Hood, Or.)Rightshttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/CNE/1.0/CollectionHistoric PhotographsW.P.A PhotographsTimberline Lodge Photographs
