TitleDoor to main entrance, Timberline LodgeDescriptionA child reaches for the door knocker on the main entrance to Timberline Lodge. The door and iconic ram’s head knocker were designed by Forest Service architect Dean Wright and the metal work was done by blacksmith Ed Frisk. The Lodge was built and furnished by local artisans during the Great Depression using Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) and Federal Art Project funds, opening to the public in 1938. It is a National Historic Landmark.CreatorAtkeson Photo Art StudioTypeStillImageFormatimage/jpegDate1935-1943LocationTimberline Lodge, Clackamas County, Oregon, United StatesSubjectTimberline Lodge (Mount Hood, Or.)Wright, DeanFrisk, EdRightshttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/CNE/1.0/CollectionHistoric PhotographsW.P.A PhotographsTimberline Lodge Photographs
