TitleSite of Booneville Ghost TownDescriptionAn overgrown field where the town of Booneville was once located. Established in 1853 by Thomas Norris, the town of Booneville was located on the west shore of the Willamette River in Benton County several miles south of Corvallis on the west side of John Smith Island and Kiger Island. It had a storehouse and blacksmith shop, and was a river shipping point. A flood in 1875 rerouted the main channel of the Willamette and left Booneville with lessened waters and less shipping traffic.CreatorEdmonds, T.
