Timberline Lodge Photographs

Constructed from 1936-1938, Timberline Lodge was funded by the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.), a program during the Great Depression putting unemployed people to work on public infrastructure. The Lodge held a dedication by Franklin D. Roosevelt on September 28, 1937, opening to the public in 1938. 
These photos were taken by the Oregon Federal Writers Project staff (a W.P.A. project) to document the construction and artisan work on Timberline Lodge. Included are photographs of construction, furniture, iron works, drapery, paintings, interior views and more.
