Donald McTavish Memorial, Astoria
Description
The memorial marker of Donald McTavish is encased in a wire protection on the City Hall lawn in Astoria, and reads "In Memory of D.M. McTavish, aged 42 years, drowned crossing this river, May 22, 1814." The marker is now located at the Clatsop County Historical Society Museum in Astoria. McTavish and 5 others drowned in accident shortly after their arrival on the Isaac Todd at Fort Astoria.
